The prerequisite for this is a not too heavy boat and a solid, well-padded carrying yoke.
In the solo canoe, the carrying yoke must be removable because the boat's center of gravity lies exactly above the seat shell.
In addition, it must allow enough headroom and therefore protrudes far beyond the edge of the coaming.
