The DKV international guide Northern France / Benelux is the standard work for canoe trips in the region. It follows the concept of the DKV river guides, which has been tried and tested in a total circulation of more than 300,000 copies: without extensive subjective descriptions, it gives a systematic overview of the more than 300 canoeing waters of the area, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands as well as northern France. The part of northern France deals in particular with the river systems of the Seine and the Loire including the tributaries. Water character and difficulties, gradients and possible usage regulations are described. Cheap entry and exit points, weirs, danger points, but also rest and accommodation options are listed along an exact kilometer. A colored map section in the appendix facilitates the location assignment of the waters. In the fourth edition currently available, numerous changes have again been entered, which may have resulted from structural changes or changes to the access regulations. Dozens of volunteers from the ranks of the German Canoe Association have contributed to making this work arguably the most extensive and accurate canoe book in the region.
